Agave (Agave Salmiana) is a plant whose name comes from ancient Greek and means "admirable". Although agave resembles aloe vera at first glance, it is a completely different plant. The leaves of the agave are hard and fibrous and the plant is very hardy and undemanding. It is used to make Mexico's national alcoholic drink and, of course, in agave syrup.
