Description

Hydrophobic polyester tulle cover
Atrauman is a sterile hydrophobic polyester tulle with tiny meshes for advanced wound healing. It promotes granulation, but the size of the individual eyelets prevents the ingrowth of new tissue - eliminating the development of hypergranulation. The product is woven from smooth fibres that do not stick to the base of the wound. Atrauman is impregnated with neutral lanolin ointment and allows gentle wound dressing.
Neutral ointment is non-irritating and non-allergenic even with prolonged treatment. It is free of added active ingredients, allowing (at the discretion of the physician) the simultaneous use of another suitable treatment agent
"Non-sticky" covering facilitates dressings
Supplied in a sterile version
Promotes granulation
Keeps wound edges flexible, protects against drying out
Does not cause allergic reactions, Does not irritate or sensitise the skin
Coverage is permeable to secretions and gases - allows good drainage of secretions and allows the wound to breathe
Does not adhere to the base of the wound
The dressing does not leave any residue in the wound that would be difficult to remove

Atrauman can be cut open and left on the wound for up to 3 days. It combines well with absorbent materials (Zetuvit, Sterilux ES, Medicomp). It is recommended to use fixation dressings (Peha crepp, Peha haft) for secondary fixation of the cover.

Remove Atrauman along with both covers from the peel pack and adjust as needed depending on the size of the wound. Remove the cover paper on one side, apply compression to the wound and then remove the remaining cover paper. Apply a sterile, highly absorbent dressing over the Atrauman to trap secretions from the wound. Unless otherwise directed by your physician, change the Atrauman with each dressing. Note: If Atrauman is to remain on the wound during dressing for therapeutic reasons, resorption of the ointment may occur with prolonged application. In such cases, prevent possible adherence to the wound by applying an additional ointment dressing.

Atrauman may be used for minor abrasions, lacerations, contusions, and chronic wounds with little secretion.
