Description

Quick urinary tract infection test - based on the presence of leukocytes, blood, nitrite and protein in human urine!

Urinary tract infection is the most common disease of the urinary tract (which includes the urethra, bladder, ureter, and kidneys). Urinary tract infection can affect men, women, and children, but women are more likely to suffer from urinary tract infections because the short urethra promotes the penetration of microbes. These are followed by a number of infections in older men with enlarged prostates that obstruct urine flow.

In healthy people, urine is sterile (that is, free of microorganisms). One of the best ways to keep the urinary tract sterile is to empty the bladder regularly. Generally, infection starts in the urethra and then can spread to the upper urinary tract and into the kidneys.

Symptoms of urinary tract infections vary widely; a burning sensation when emptying the bladder or a strong urge to urinate, pain in the sacral area, fever, cloudy urine with an unpleasant smell...

The test kit is supplied with instructions and a colour scale for interpretation of the results.

White Lab's Rapid Urinary Tract Infection Test measures 4 parameters in urine that are associated with urinary tract infections:

  • Leukocytes, which appear only trace amounts in urine, and elevated levels may indicate urinary tract infections, kidney disease, tumor (cancer).
  • Dusitates, which are absent in normal urine, but their presence may indicate urinary tract infections.
  • Blooddetected in a urine test (hidden blood in the urine) may indicate stones in the kidney, ureter, or bladder, inflammation, or a tumor.
  • Protein in the urine may be an indicator of inflammation of the bladder or prostate or bleeding in the urinary tract.

Simple and discreet to use - results can be read as soon as 2 minutes after sample application.

Benefits of the White Lab Rapid Urinary Tract Infection Test:

  • for qualitative detection of leukocytes, blood, nitrates and proteins in human urine,
  • simple aid in determining urinary tract infection,
  • fast results - you can read them after 2 minutes,
  • testing in the comfort of your home - practical and discreet,
  • the kit contains everything you need to take the test - except a timer to measure the time,
  • easy to use - instructions for use are also included

Use

Testing:

  • It is recommended to collect urine first thing in the morning as this is when it is most concentrated. Make sure that the urine used for the test has not come into contact with toilet water or any disinfectants or cleaning products.
  • You should not take the test during or three days after your period. The urine sample should not be contaminated with vaginal fluids as this can lead to a misleading result.
  • Capture the urine in the plastic cup provided or use any sterile cup. Make sure the container is well filled with urine.
  • Open the pouch and carefully remove the test strip without touching the test fields. It is recommended to use the test immediately after opening.
  • Dip the test strip into the urine sample so that all 4 test fields are submerged and wait 1-2 seconds.
  • Then remove the test strip and wipe excess urine from the rim of the container or onto a paper towel to prevent chemicals from adjacent areas from mixing with reagents.
  • Wait 2 minutes (do not read results after 3 minutes). Read the result for each parameter separately and compare the colour with the attached colour chart.

Negative result:

  • The leukocyte test field remained whitish.
  • Blood test field remained mustard yellow.
  • The nitrite test field remained white.
  • The protein test field remained yellowish.

Positive result:

For leukocytes: if the color of the test box turns purple, leukocytes have been found in the urine. For blood:If the color of the test box changes to green (or green dots appear in the background), blood has been found in your urine. For nitrites: If the color of the test box changes to pink, nitrites have been found in your urine. For protein: if the color of the test box changes to green, protein has been detected in your urine.

Note: For further information regarding the test results and if the test result is normal but symptoms of infection are present, it is recommended that you consult a physician
