Sanitary pads are used under sick, incontinent patients as:

addition to disposable absorbent devices,
additional bed protection for patients with decubitus ulcers, ulcerations or eczematous changes requiring the application of ointments and solutions.
Dosage and method of use :
The pad is unfolded on the bed and placed under the patient so that it can perform its function (either as an adjunct to other absorbent devices under incontinent patients, or as additional bed protection). If it ceases to fulfil its function it should be replaced with a new one. It is replaced as needed.
